Last month, I had the privilege of seeing Warren Barfield in
concert. I've always enjoyed his music, but one can never tell
these days whether an artist's voice is real or made over by
computer software. When I found out I was actually going to
hear him live, I was excited. I also hoped I wouldn't return home
disgusted because his live performances weren't half as good
as the ones on his c.d.
I wasn't about to be let down. The talent of Warren Barfield far
exceeded my expectations. He wasn't as good as he was on
recording, he was BETTER. As soon as I returned home from
the concert, I downloaded his entire latest album, only to shake
my head and wish it were a live recording. Just the same, I've
listened to the album several times over since the concert and
have enjoyed every minute of it.
What I think you'll appreciate about Warren's albums, are the
depth of his songs. It's not just entertainment, it's truth
streaming through your speakers. Most of his songs are mainly
acoustic, acceptable in tone and words to even the most
conservative music listeners.
The sample playing on this page is from Warren's
album "Reach" and one of the more "upbeat" songs of
the collection. His latest release is titled, "Worth
Fighting For" and is definitely worth owning. The single
on his album, "Love is Not a Fight", is featured in the
new movie "Fireproof". This song will bring tears to
your eyes and, hopefully, will touch those who watch
the film.
