| Recently, the three of us girls at Perfecting113 had a meeting. The meeting was a break in our rush to pull the next issue together in order that we might really think about what it is we are doing. There were several reasons Perfecting113 started, most of them selfish and the good reasons we had were a bit hazy and unsettled. Now that we have become more comfortable with running an online magazine and have allowed our minds room to think rationally, we realize that God has a greater purpose in mind for Perfecting113. After praying, talking, and thinking, we finally cemented ourselves in what the purpose of Perfecting113 really is. Below is a collection of our thoughts and the real, bottom line purpose of Perfecting113. For those of you who do not have time to read the purpose statement, it can be summed up in a word: TRUTH. |
| We have discovered through our own lives, through books, through media, through listening to other young men and women, that the ONE THING we are ALL |
| searching for is truth. Where can truth be found? We believe it can be found in the Word of God. I know that I have searched for truth in several ministries, good Christian books or speakers, etc. Much of what these people had to say was good but something most of them failed to do was direct me back to the Bible. I would try out different people’s methods for the wonderful Christian life, only to come away disappointed and a bit more confused. We three girls at Perfecting113 have a sincere desire NOT to hand out another “perfect Christian formula”, but rather to show young women the truth in God’s Word. We are not authorities on Scripture. We have bunches of faults that we struggle with. We are still searching for the truth about things, just like you, but we do know where to find that truth. |
We have made mistakes, some big, some
small, and we would like to share those
mistakes with you and hopefully show you
how you can avoid those same mistakes. We
are not here to teach you, we are the least
qualified teachers available! We are here to
encourage you, to tell you that you are not
alone in your search for answers and that
regardless of what anyone may say there is a
final and unwavering standard in God’s Word.

| In summary, we are here to encourage young women searching after God’s Word. We are here to point young women searching for Truth back to Christ. We are here to speak the Truth, no matter if it hurts or not. |

but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”
(Proverbs 17:22) We are here to be real, not to
pretend we have it all together and make you
feel poorly if you don’t.
